Beach hotels in Menorca: ten places by the sea, from Cala Galdana to Ciutadella and Mahón harbour
Ten hotels, eight four-star and two five-star: six are close to a beach (three in Cala Galdana, one 50 metres from Santo Tomás beach, one on the seafront at Cala en Bosch and one on the Ciutadella promenade) and four are not: three look out over Mahón harbour and the Torralbenc is inland, near Cala en Porter. The Calallonga Hotel Menorca is in Cala Llonga, across from Mahón harbour, a few metres from a small marina with water sports facilities. The outdoor pool, with a children’s pool, has a sea view and is surrounded by gardens. The nearest beaches are 2.5 km away, and the centre of Mahón, the island’s main town, is 4 km away.
The rooms are studios with a balcony or terrace, air-conditioned, with a double room with single beds, a living area, satellite TV and a kitchenette with a hob and a fridge. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar, and with half board drinks are not included. Parking is free, there is a free WiFi area, reception is open 24 hours and the airport is 11 km away.

2. Torralbenc: a five-star in Menorcan style in the hills of Alaior, with the sea in the distance
The Torralbenc, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World is a five-star hotel on a hill in the municipality of Alaior, 10 minutes’ drive from the airport. It is not on the beach: the sea can be seen in the distance from the sun terrace. The rooms are set around an outdoor pool, among gardens, and are furnished in the traditional Menorcan style, with whitewashed walls and beamed ceilings.
The restaurant serves island dishes made with produce from local organic farms; there is also a bar, a gym and room service, and parking is free. Cala en Porter is 10 minutes away by car, with its beach and the Cova d’en Xoroi, the bar at the top of the cliff. Rooms are booked for two people: a third guest, at an extra cost, can be requested from the hotel and added in every room except the Albenc.

3. Seth Port Ciutadella: spa and rooms with a balcony on the Ciutadella seafront
The Seth Port Ciutadella looks out to sea from the Passeig Marítim in Ciutadella, a 5-minute walk from Platja Gran, and the old town is a 10-minute stroll away. Besides the outdoor pool there is a wellness centre with an indoor pool, a steam bath and a sauna, with a gym and a beauty salon for treatments.
The rooms are spacious and bright, with a balcony, air conditioning, satellite TV, a minibar and wired internet. The buffet restaurant serves international cuisine, and for a drink there is the lobby bar. Free WiFi and private parking; the airport is on the other side of the island, about 35 km away.

The Seth Santo Tomás is on the south coast, 50 metres from Santo Tomás beach, which you can see from the sun terrace and the gardens. Besides the outdoor pool it has a spa with a heated indoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna and a steam bath, with massages and beauty treatments, and a fitness centre.
The rooms are bright and air-conditioned, with a private bathroom and a minibar, and there are family rooms. You can eat at the buffet restaurant, at the café-bar and at the barbecue restaurant by the sea. Free WiFi in the public areas and private parking.

5. Catalonia Mirador des Port: views over Mahón harbour, a 10-minute walk from the centre
The Catalonia Mirador des Port overlooks the natural harbour of Mahón and was extended and renovated in 2023. Around it there is a garden with a seasonal outdoor pool; inside, a fitness centre and a wellness area with a water zone, a Turkish bath, a sauna, a sensory shower and massage rooms, at an extra charge. The centre of Mahón is a 10-minute walk away.
The rooms are modern, with air conditioning, heating, satellite TV, a safe and a minibar, and some have a terrace with a sea view. At the Mirador des Port restaurant breakfast is a buffet with show cooking, and at lunch and dinner there are Menorcan dishes with a modern twist; for a drink and sport on TV there is the gastrobar. The Senator Port Mahon is a four-star hotel in a residential area of Mahón, with views over the harbour and five minutes from the centre. The pool and the garden look out over the harbour, and there is a snack bar with a terrace and a piano bar.
At the restaurant you can eat from the buffet or à la carte, and there is room service. There are family rooms and accessible rooms, reception is open 24 hours and WiFi is free; the hotel also has two rooms for meetings and events.

The Meliá Cala Galdana is a five-star hotel right on the beach in Cala Galdana, on the south coast, and every room has a balcony with a sea view, front or side. With The Level service you also get a private lounge, an infinity pool and an adults only area.
There are several restaurants: the Mosaico, a buffet with local and international cuisine and show cooking; the Casa Nostra, Italian, in the evening; the Cape Nao, with a sea view and fresh produce from Menorca; and the Beach House by Cape Nao, with relaxed dishes and cocktails. The Comitas Floramar is an aparthotel 250 metres from Cala Galdana beach, with an outdoor pool, a gym, a hot tub and an on-site supermarket. Along the coast, a 40-minute walk away, are Cala Mitjana and Macarella, two unspoilt beaches; Ciutadella is 15 km away.
The apartments are spacious, with tiled floors and wooden furniture, a kitchen and a terrace or balcony, and some have a sea view. The Minura Cala Galdana & Apartamentos d’Aljandar is set in gardens and looks out over the bay of Cala Galdana, 150 metres from the beach; the centre of the resort, with shops, bars and restaurants, is a 5-minute walk away. All the rooms were renovated in 2024, with a sea or garden view, and there are also villas with a kitchenette and a living area.
The wellness centre has a sauna and a hot tub, with massages and other treatments, and there is a gym. The Es Llaüts buffet restaurant serves international dishes with live cooking; for drinks and snacks there are the Amurada and the Oasis, both with a terrace over the pool, and every evening there is entertainment on the open-air stage. The FERGUS Style Carema Beach is on the seafront in Cala en Bosch, in the south-west of the island, 16 km from Ciutadella. It has rooms and apartments, an outdoor pool and a sun terrace.
All the rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a seating area and a balcony or terrace, and the apartments also have a kettle, a microwave and a fridge. At the restaurant breakfast and dinner are buffets; reception is open 24 hours, and parking and WiFi are free. The airport is 50 minutes away by car.

Which hotel to choose: the town, the beach or the airport close by
If you want the town on your doorstep, choose Mahón, with the Catalonia Mirador des Port and the Senator on the harbour, or Ciutadella, with the Seth Port on the seafront.
