Spa hotels in Menorca: ten addresses for a holiday where you also slow down
Menorca is an island you explore slowly, cove after cove, and at the end of the day it asks for a reward: a heated pool, a sauna, a massage while your legs are still tired from the trail. There are not many spa hotels in Menorca, and almost all of them have five stars: we searched for them on Booking with the “Spa and wellness centre” filter, read the listings one by one and kept the ten that guests who stayed there liked best. For each one you will find where it is, what the spa is like and what is included in your stay and what you pay for separately, because this is where the listings differ more than they seem to.
Three questions help you read the list. Is the spa included or do you pay for it? In four hotels (Faustino Gran, Villa Le Blanc, Llonga’s Collection and La Quinta) access to the wellness centre is included; in the other six you pay for it, and everywhere massages and treatments are booked separately. Can you use it in winter too? The same four have at least one pool open all year round, the others are seasonal. Do you want an adults-only hotel? 1. Insotel Punta Prima Resort: the resort with a spa 200 metres from the beach
The Insotel Punta Prima Resort is the five-star hotel of Punta Prima, in the south-east of the island, 200 metres from the beach: two seasonal outdoor pools for all ages, a garden, a terrace, a gym, a tennis court and free bikes. The wellness centre costs extra and includes a hammam, a sauna and a hot tub, with massages, facials, beauty services and spa packages to be booked separately; the gym and the solarium are included.
The rooms are air-conditioned, with a fridge and free WiFi, and there are family rooms; for children, a kids’ club and a play area. The restaurant serves international cuisine, with gluten-free dishes on request, and breakfast is a buffet. The reception is open 24 hours a day, parking is free; the port of Mahón and the airport are 11 km away.

2. Jardí de Ses Bruixes: a spa in an 1811 mansion in the centre of Mahón
The Jardí de Ses Bruixes Boutique Hotel is in the centre of Mahón, in a restored building from 1811, a five-minute walk from the port. It has no outdoor pool: its strong point is the spa, at extra cost, with a hammam, a sauna and a hot tub, a foot bath, scrubs, body wraps, facial and body treatments and a relaxation room. In the photos the pool sits in a stone cave, lit by candles.
The rooms have whitewashed walls and furniture between rustic and modern, a coffee machine and a bathrobe. There is no restaurant, but there is a café, a bar and, all around, the streets of Mahón for dinner. Room service, private parking and an airport shuttle.

3. Lago Resort Menorca, Suites del Lago: adults only, with dinner in seven restaurants
The Suites del Lago are one of the two properties of the Lago Resort Menorca in Cala en Bosch, in the south-west: 100 metres from the beach, 700 from Son Xoriguer, 1.2 km from the Artrutx lighthouse. Five stars and adults only, with two seasonal outdoor pools, one of them heated and filled with salt water, a pool bar and a sun terrace. The spa costs extra: a shared pool, a thermal pool, a hot tub and a sauna, massages and a relaxation room; the gym and the solarium are included.
Half board works differently here: dinner is included in seven restaurants outside the hotel, a three-minute walk away, and the tasting menu of the in-house restaurant can be tried for a supplement. Continental or buffet breakfast, 24-hour reception, airport transfer, bike and car hire, private parking. The airport is 55 km away: to see the rest of the island, a hire car is the best option.

4. Faustino Gran Relais & Châteaux: spa included and year-round pools facing the port of Ciutadella
The Faustino Gran Relais & Châteaux occupies three mansions from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, part of the historic heritage of Ciutadella, facing the port and 150 metres from the cathedral. Here the spa is included in your stay: a hammam, a sauna, a gym with lockers and two pools open all year round, one indoor and one outdoor, free of charge. Massages, facial and body treatments and beauty services cost extra.
The rooms are all different, between rooms and suites, some overlooking the port and others the cathedral. The Faustino restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes on request; breakfast is a buffet or à la carte. 24-hour reception, private parking and an airport shuttle, 46 km away.

The Villa Le Blanc, a Gran Meliá Hotel lies between the beaches of Santo Tomás and San Adeodato, on the south coast, half an hour from the airport. It has two outdoor pools open all year round, one on the top floor for adults only and one for children, sun terraces over the Mediterranean and a spa included in your stay: a Turkish bath, a sauna, a hot tub, a shared pool, a relaxation room, massages, yoga classes and a gym.
The rooms are modern and bright, almost all with a balcony and some with a sea view. The restaurant, with outdoor tables facing the sea, serves a buffet breakfast and Mediterranean and international dinners; on the beach there is a lounge bar with cocktails and live music. 24-hour reception, airport shuttle, paid parking.

6. Llonga’s Collection Hotel & Spa: a heated salt-water pool under the vaults of Ciutadella
The Llonga’s Collection Hotel & Spa is a five-star hotel in the centre of Ciutadella, with Platja Gran, the cathedral of Santa Maria and the lighthouse among the places nearby. The spa is included and is the heart of the hotel: a heated indoor salt-water pool, open all year round, among arches and vaults of pale stone, plus a sauna and a relaxation room. The listing mentions no massages or treatments: this is the spa for those looking for water and silence.
The rooms have air conditioning and a kettle, some a terrace. Continental breakfast, a bar, room service, an airport shuttle, 45 km away, and free parking, which in the centre of Ciutadella is worth a lot.

The Bordoy Casa Ládico – Hotel Boutique is a five-star, adults-only hotel in a 19th-century building in Mahón, 500 metres from the port and 5 km from the airport, the closest of the whole list. It has an outdoor pool, a sun terrace and a bar. The spa costs extra: a Turkish bath, a sauna, a shared pool and a hot tub, a relaxation room and a long list of treatments, from couples’ massages to scrubs, body wraps, manicures and pedicures.

The Casas del Lago are the other property of the Lago Resort Menorca, on the Cala en Bosch seafront, 100 metres from the beach and 1.2 km from the Artrutx lighthouse. Five stars and adults only, with two seasonal pools, an outdoor one included and an indoor one at extra cost, a gym, a garden and a terrace. The spa, at extra cost, has the longest list of services in our selection: a Turkish bath, a hammam, a sauna, a thermal pool and a hot tub, massages, body wraps, scrubs, facial and body treatments, a hairdresser, manicures and pedicures, a solarium and a relaxation room.
The rooms are air-conditioned, some with a balcony. Buffet breakfast, a restaurant with a terrace, 24-hour reception, airport transfer and private parking. Here too the airport is 55 km away: that is the price of sleeping by the sea, in the south-west.

9. Barceló Nura: yoga, personal trainers and gardens in Biniancolla, 8 km from the airport
The Barceló Nura is a five-star hotel in Biniancolla, in the municipality of Sant Lluís, 1.8 km from Punta Prima beach, 8 km from the airport and 11 km from the port of Mahón. It is the hotel on the list most focused on staying active: a gym with personal trainers, fitness and yoga classes, a garden, a solarium and the pools among the greenery that you can see in the photos. The spa costs extra, with a sauna, massages, a massage chair, facial and body treatments, manicures and pedicures and a relaxation room.
All rooms have a terrace or balcony and some look out to sea. Buffet, continental or English breakfast, a restaurant, a bar and a snack bar, 24-hour reception, free parking.

La Quinta Menorca by PortBlue Boutique is a five-star, adults-only hotel in Son Xoriguer, 400 metres from Cala en Bosch beach, surrounded by gardens, with colonial-style architecture and contemporary works of art. The wellness centre is included in your stay: a hammam, a sauna, a hot tub, a relaxation room, a gym with a personal trainer and yoga classes; massages and beauty treatments cost extra. There are two pools, both adults only: an outdoor one, free of charge, and a heated indoor one, which the listing marks as paid.
The rooms have a pillow menu, bathrobes and slippers and a private balcony over the garden and the pool. The Son Xoriguer restaurant serves a buffet breakfast, Mediterranean dishes and themed dinners with live music; there is also a grill bar and a cocktail bar. Which spa hotel to choose in Menorca: it depends on three things
If you want the spa included in the price and warm water in winter too, there are four names: Faustino Gran and Llonga’s Collection for Ciutadella on foot, Villa Le Blanc for the sea at Santo Tomás, La Quinta for an adults-only garden near Cala en Bosch. If you are looking for an adults-only hotel with a complete spa, even at extra cost, there are the two Lago Resort properties and Casa Ládico in Mahón. If you are travelling with children, the Insotel Punta Prima is the only resort designed for them too.
